Screenings are a series of questions that can help to quickly identify symptoms or “warning signs” of a mental health or substance use concern. You can take a screening for yourself, or as a parent of a young child in order to determine if your child’s emotions, attention or behaviors might be signs of a problem.
Taking a screening can help you to understand what your symptoms may indicate about your mental health, and may may help you decide if it is time to seek professional support from a counselor or treatment center. However, results of a screening are not the same as getting a definitive diagnoses from a counselor or physician. After you have connected with a mental health professional, they will do a more thorough assessment to identify your needs and to make recommendations for treatment.
